Make a Meaningful Difference Today – Help End the Waitlist for Quality Autism Treatment
Imagine not being able to find a babysitter who will watch your child so you can go on a date for your wedding anniversary. Or having to go to a grandparent’s birthday party alone because social gatherings upset your This is the very real struggle for hundreds of families in our community who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ?
ASD is the fastest growing developmental disability in the US, affecting 1 in 54 children. There is no cure, but with effective treatment, people with autism can learn the skills they and their families need to enjoy the day-to-day activities that we often take for granted.
Potential, a dedicated provider of quality autism services, is working hard to meet this need in our community. But we can’t do it without your help. Today, there are countless children and adults in our region on waitlists for services. To ensure they receive the treatment they desperately need right now we must do two things:
· Expand our services to a second location
· Hire as many behavior therapists (BCBAs and RBTs) as possible
We must raise $87,000 in 2021 to accomplish both.
Already, we have acquired a location for our expansion and are moving forward with plans to renovate this space for use starting this summer.
At the same time, we are aggressively hiring behavior caregivers to meet the needs of clients in their homes, our center, or at school. This is a two-step process. Once hired, staff participate in a rigorous 4-week group training program developed and tested by Potential that allows them to reach a higher level of certification known as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). This program far exceeds the one-to-two days of initial training most organizations provide and is a testament to Potential’s commitment to quality and to serving our autism community.
We believe that with the new location, additional staff and your generous support, we can significantly cut the waitlist!
When will the new space be operational?
We estimate that the space will be operational for use by mid to late July. Keep up to date with our progress by following us on social media and for our open house which will take place in September.
Why is the waitlist so long?
Our waitlist is so long because there are simply more people waiting for services than there are providers. In addition, Potential's reputation and our exceptional dedication to our clients sets us apart from other providers.
Where is the new location?
The new location is in Warminster, PA, near Street Road and Jacksonville Road.
How does Potential's unique training process differ?
Once hired, staff participate in a rigorous 4-week group training program developed and tested by Potential that allows them to reach a high level of certification known as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). This program far exceeds the one-to-two days of initial training most organization provide and is a testament to Potential's commitment to quality and to serving our autism community.
